Carmina Lees has been named the new leader of Accenture’s insurance practice for the UK and Ireland, stepping into the role during a period of significant industry upheaval. With 25 years of experience, Lees is well-positioned to guide clients through the sector’s current challenges.
In a LinkedIn announcement, Lees expressed her enthusiasm for the new role and her gratitude to colleagues and clients who have supported her career. “I am excited for this new challenge and bringing my cross-industry expertise into the mix,” she stated.
Lees, who joined Accenture in 2017 as managing director for financial services, previously led IBM’s UK cybersecurity practice for nearly two decades. In her latest position, she will focus on helping insurers, reinsurers, and brokers advance their digital strategies, enhance operational efficiency, and drive growth despite ongoing disruptions.
A recent Bloomberg Intelligence report highlighted the severe turmoil in the UK insurance market, with Allianz and AXA imposing significant rate hikes. These increases, notably higher than those seen in other European countries, reflect deeper issues and disruptions within the UK and Irish insurance sectors.
