Cover-More Blue Insurance Services Limited has announced the appointment of Jason Whelan as its new managing director. Whelan, who has dedicated nearly two decades to the company, most recently served as chief product officer for Cover-More in Europe. In his new role, Whelan will maintain his reporting line to Donna Dorairajoo, CEO of Cover-More Europe, as reported by FF News.
The company, originally known as Blue Insurance Limited, was founded in 2003 and joined the Cover-More Group in 2018. It rebranded to Cover-More Blue Insurance Services Limited in 2023, marking a deeper integration within the Cover-More Group, a subsidiary of Zurich Insurance Group.
As managing director, Whelan will lead the company’s strategic initiatives, focus on growth through new partnerships, and enhance direct-to-consumer channels. His role will also involve strengthening the company’s core capabilities and expanding its footprint across Ireland and the European Economic Area (EEA).
Whelan’s extensive tenure with Cover-More Blue, spanning two decades, has seen him in various roles. His expertise in product management and comprehensive understanding of the Irish insurance landscape have been instrumental in his career. He has played a pivotal role in the integration of Blue Insurance into the Cover-More Group, establishing himself as a key leader within the organization.
On his new role, Whelan expressed enthusiasm about leading Cover-More Blue, stating, “I am excited to guide Cover-More Blue and our exceptional award-winning team as we extend our reach in Ireland and across Europe.
