MAPFRE has appointed Jiménez as the new group chief innovation officer, marking a new phase for MAPFRE Open Innovation. With over 20 years of experience and a background as CEO of MAWDY, Jiménez will lead efforts to enhance business development and stay ahead of market trends. She succeeds José Antonio Arias, who will continue as group chief operational transformation officer.
The move follows MAPFRE’s recent earnings report, showing a net profit of €461.6 million for the first half of the year, up from €317 million last year. The profit increase is attributed to strong performances in the United States, Spain, and reinsurance sectors, with LATAM, particularly Brazil, being the top profit contributor.
