Manulife has announced the expansion of its Asia Distribution Team with two significant senior appointments, both effective August 19. Bonnie Qiu will assume the role of Chief Distribution Officer, while Rishi Srivastava will take on the position of Chief Agency Officer.
Bonnie Qiu, reporting to Phil Witherington, President and CEO of Manulife Asia, will spearhead the development and enhancement of the company’s multi-channel distribution strategy across its twelve Asian insurance markets. Her responsibilities will include bolstering agency performance, improving service quality, strengthening bancassurance partnerships, and advancing digital transformation.
Qiu joins Manulife with a robust background from HSBC, where she served as Managing Director of Business Development for Asia Pacific. Her extensive career at HSBC includes various high-level positions in Wealth and Personal Banking, such as CEO of HSBC Bank Mauritius and Group Head of Premier and Jade. She has also held leadership roles in mainland China and Taiwan and possesses substantial board experience in both banking and insurance sectors.
Rishi Srivastava will also begin his role on August 19, reporting directly to Qiu. He will be responsible for driving the sustainable growth of Manulife’s agency channels through the use of digital tools and innovative propositions.
Srivastava brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as CEO of Group Agency Distribution at AIA, where he managed the agency business and led digital transformation efforts. His past roles also include Managing Director & CEO at Tata AIA Life Insurance and Director at AXA Financial Indonesia.
