In a strategic move aimed at optimizing operations and improving accessibility for brokers and clients, AXA XL is revamping its regional model. “After a thorough review of our structure, we’re implementing changes to streamline how we operate and facilitate better interactions between our brokers and clients,” stated Lucy Pilko, Americas CEO. “Our reorganization is client-centric, ensuring easy access to all product lines.”
The newly formed Americas’ Large Commercial business segment will cater to the multiline insurance needs of AXA XL’s largest clients in the U.S., Bermuda, and Canada. This segment consolidates various product lines, including Casualty, Property, Cyber, Construction & Energy, Specialty (such as Aviation and Marine), and Wholesale Solutions, which encompasses E&S and Programs. Donna Nadeau, formerly the Americas’ Chief Underwriting Officer, will lead this new segment as Head of Large Commercial. Nadeau brings over 30 years of industry experience to her new role.
“Our Mid-Market underwriting operation, which launched successfully last year under the leadership of Matthew Waters, Head of Mid-Market, is dedicated to serving businesses with less than $1 billion in revenue,” Pilko explained. “As part of this realignment, we’re expanding our product lines for mid-size clients and extending our offerings to include mid-size businesses in Canada. We are now integrating Environmental, Inland Marine, and Excess & Lead Umbrella products, along with mid-size Construction capabilities, into this segment.”
AXA XL’s Professional business segment will continue to focus on clients’ Director & Officer (D&O), Merger & Acquisition (M&A), Crime, and Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion (KRE) insurance needs. Due to the Professional team’s distinct market leadership, it will remain a vertical segment within the portfolio, managed by its current Operating Committee members: Tony Giacco, John Burrows, Sean Hearn, and Jim Koval.
