Cambodia’s insurance sector recorded $30 million in gross premiums in February, a decrease compared to January’s $43 million.
According to data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia, the premiums for January rose by 10.12% year-on-year (YoY), totaling $29.8 million, which was slightly lower than the previous month’s $42.7 million.
In particular, the life insurance segment experienced an 11.53% YoY increase, reaching $18.4 million, while the number of policies issued surged by 47%, totaling 116,174 policies.
Similarly, the general insurance sector saw a 7.9% YoY growth, bringing in $11.3 million. The number of general insurance policies also saw a significant rise of 181.7% YoY, with 66,713 policies sold during the period.
