LONDON — Global law firm DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Charles Rix to its International Insurance team, further enhancing the firm’s insurance sector capabilities as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
Based in London, Rix brings nearly 30 years of experience advising major global insurers on complex legal matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, business restructurings, insurance business transfers, and regulatory compliance. He has previously held senior leadership roles such as Global Head of Insurance and Head of UK M&A.
In his new role, Rix will focus on supporting DLA Piper’s European and global insurance teams on client mandates, business development, and raising the firm’s profile within the industry.

Rix’s appointment follows a series of strategic hires within DLA Piper’s international insurance team, including Carl Hotton in London, Cristina Gabardi in Milan, and Virginie Frémat in Antwerp, as the firm continues to build out its presence in key markets.
